4830 Shank System
|
 |
 |
 |
| |
The
Krause 4830 shank system utilizes a straight-leg shank design,
with a narrow, 3/4", lower shank profile. This combination
results in a very narrow opening profile in the sub-soil cross
section. Soil "flows" around the shank in a smooth,
controlled lifting action (laminar). The Krause. laminar flow
design minimizes soil heaving and creation of large clods,
resulting in minimal topsoil and residue disturbance. Maximum
cross-row fracturing is achieved with the 5", chromium
carbide shattering wing attachment. |
Krause's
Spring Reset shanks feature a straight leg design for smooth
soil flow. Shank point load is 2500 lbs. with a generous 20"
trip height to clear field obstacles. The shanks automatically
reset without the need to raise the unit out of the ground...
a real time saving feature in rocky soils. Krause's exclusive
shank design features a narrow, 3/4" thick lower portion
(where the shank engages the soil), for minimal residue disturbance.
The upper portion of the shank is 1 1/4" thick for added
strength. A reversible, chromium carbide wear bar is standard
equipment to protect the soil engaging surface from wear.
Maximum shank working depth is 16" with 36" of underframe
clearance. |

Rigid, shear-bolt shanks are a lower cost choice for soils
where rocks or other obstacles are not of concern. The rigid
shank utilizes the same straight-leg, shank lower as the Spring-Reset
version, but with a shear-bolt protected shank mounting. Thickness
at the lower, soil engaging portion of the shank is 3/4",
with the heavier 1 1/4" thickness in the upper shank
for added strength. A reversible, chromium carbide, shank
wear bar is standard equipment. Maximum shank working depth
is 16" with 36" of underframe clearance.
