Rigid, 11 - 15 ft.

The Krause primary tillage series allows farmers to complete their primary tillage faster and more efficiently. The newly-designed stretched frame on the 4000 Chisel Series is a perfect example. By adding 12 inches to the center and 13 inches to the wings, Krause has improved the chisel's performance in even the heaviest trash conditions. Better trash flow means less plugging, less time in the field and improved overall efficiency and performance.

Krause 4000 Series Chisels feature positive mechanical depth control on each section. This proven system prevents cylinder leak downs and uneven operating depth problems that plague other brands with "slave cylinder" systems.

Another time-saving feature in the 4000 Series is the walking beam construction which has Timken® style bearings. This bearing has greater load-bearing surfaces to increase bearing life and reduce down time and costly maintenance. Even after years of use in uneven field conditions the Timken® bearings continue to provide trouble-free operation.
The shank choice. . . Graphic:Spring loaded shank

Spring loaded shanks provide flexibility with superior strength and wear. The hardened iron guide and heat-treated steel bushing at the top of the spring holder reduces wear and allows the shank to flex.

1-1/4" x 2" x 30" shanks offer nine-inch trip height to clear rocks and other field obstacles thus protecting the unit from damage.

Rigid shanks are 1-1/4" x 2" x 30" and offer low cost reliability for farms where rock is not a concern.

Exclusive modular frame design for easy, economical expansion. . .
Graphic:Modular frame design
The exclusive modular frame design of the 4000 Series means the farmer can adapt to changing needs with the addition of frame extensions to accommodate higher horse power tractors. For instance, a model 4017 can be easily converted to a 4023 with the purchase of a frame extension kit. The frame is pre-drilled and simply requires relocating the rocker shaft.

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT

Treaders

Heavy-duty treaders crush clods and uproot weeds to incorporate them into the topsoil forming a seal to help lock in soil moisture. Treaders feature 1-1/4" square shafts with SuperSeal® regreasable bearings and angle adjustments for 0° to 30°. Spring-loaded down-pressure requires no adjustment for various working depths.

Trail Hitch

The convenient rear hitch is for easy hookup of trailing equipment. The swing-out tongue telescopes and swivels for easy hookup, then automatically locks in place when the unit is backed up.

Tine Harrow Attachments

Tines are available in three or four-row arrangements with rugged double coil tines of spring steel in 11" or 16" lengths. Pitch of the tine bar assembly and working angle of the tines are easily adjusted.

Spike Harrow Attachments

Spikes are 3/4" x 10" and available in three- or five-row configurations to break up clods, clear trash and level the field surface.
