Krause heavy cast spools aren't just "spacers" for
the disc blades, they multiply the strength of the Krause
disc gang, making it the strongest in the
industry. Krause spools are line bored for an exact fit on
the tie rod and precision faced to perfectly match the surface
of the disc blade. A larger bell on the convex end and a smaller
bell on the concave end provides an overlap fit against the
blades. This design supports the disc blade more positively
without creating a "stress line" like competitive
designs.

Other disc manufacturers use fabricated spools made by welding
a round steel stamping on each end of a piece of tubing. The
resulting "spacer" does not provide a precision
machined gripping surface against the disc blade. And since
the fabricated spools are the same diameter on both ends,
a stress line is created by the disc blade flexing as shown
in the illustration.

Rock-Flex bearing arms flex over the toughest obstacles. Krause's
exacting manufacturing process for Rock-Flex arms includes
heat treating for durability and shot peening to relieve stress.
Lubrication access to the SuperSeal gang bearings is through
the protection of the Rock-Flex standard itself. The Rock-Flex
bearing arm is available on all Krause Disc Harrows.
Krause
SuperSeal regreasable gang bearings are as tough and durable
as the discs they come on. First they're protected in a ductile
cast iron holder and encased in a heavy rubber boot to absorb
shock. Triple lip seal has an extra heavy outer lip to resist
wear and keep dirt out. Grease fitting is aligned directly
with lube hole in the bearing for positive greasing directly
into the cartridge. SuperSeal bearings are backed by Krause's
3-Year limited warranty*.
