The 3950 Series is a rugged new addition to the famous Krause line of disc harrows. A medium sized disc harrow, the 3950 is available in a wide array of configurations to meet primary or secondary tillage needs. When chemical incorporation or finishing work is needed, a 3950 equipped with 22" blades on 7 3/4" spacing is the perfect combination. If residue management is in your plans the 3950's unique ability to work shallow and size residue while leaving a level seedbed made it an effective conservation tool. For deeper tillage and cutting heavy residue, 22" blades on 9 1/8" spacing deliver the performance you need. Krause 3950 Series discs put an average of 375 lbs. per ft. of cut to work for you.

The 3950 Series carries on the Krause tradition of overlapping disc gangs to cut clean in the center and eliminate the need for "middle busters" used on conventional tandems. By overlapping the gangs, Krause discs work level at varying speeds - without ridging in the center.

Graphic:Disc HarrowYes... you can use a disc harrow in your conservation program. The Krause 3950 Series Flex-Wing tandem disc harrows are an excellent choice for stalk sizing and finishing work. With standard single-point remote depth control you can easily set the 3950 to the optimum depth for managing and preserving residue. A 3950, with 22" blades on 9 1/8" spacing, working 3" deep in untilled cornstalks, can leave 50% or more residue.

Graphic:Rock-Flex bearing standardsRock-Flex bearing standards are optional on 3950 Series discs. Invented by Krause in 1965, Rock-Flex bearing standards absorb shock from rocks and extend disc blade and bearing life. Rock-Flex bearing standards also provide improved residue clearance. Another time and money-saving feature is the Krause extension spool used on the furrow filler blades. In the event of contact with a tree or fence post, the bolt-on extension spool can break away, eliminating the need for an expensive tie-rod or bearing standard replacement. Tapered discs and furrow filler blades on rear gangs result in a level, ridge-free field finish.

Graphic:Self-leveling system Graphic:Self-leveling detail Precision leveling is the hallmark of the 3950 Series discs. A new self-leveling system automatically levels the disc when working depth changes are made. A handy turnbuckle on the tongue provides quick fine tuning adjustments. The 3950's rugged hitch is over 7 ft. long for unrestricted turns. 3950 Series discs feature two hitch height positions to allow you to match the hitch to your tractor draw bar height, so important with 42" or 46" tractor tires.

Graphic:Remote depth control Graphic:Remote depth control Now it's easier than ever to set the depth control on 3950 Series discs! Krause's single location remote depth control, conveniently located at the front of the disc, allows the 3950 to return to the same working depth after each pass. Working depth changes are made quickly and easily in a matter of seconds. A convenient hydraulic transport lock valve is located next toe the remote depth control adjustment. Now color coded Hydra-Grips make hooking up hydraulics easier and safer.

Graphic:Center and wing frames Just because the Krause 3950 Series discs cost a lot less than competitive models doesn't mean we left anything out! Take our center and wing frames for example: The 3950 features 8 front to rear frame beams (4 on the main frame, two on each wing) rather than 6 like the competition. That's a 33% advantage! Multiple frame beams and computer designed cross-braces allow load stresses to be more evenly distributed across the entire frame, rather than concentrating stress in a few areas. The result: a more durable and longer lasting disc harrow... and a smarter investment.

Graphic:Wing rocker design
3950 Series discs feature a new wing rocker design with hydraulic cylinders that act directly on the wheel arms, reducing frame stress and torsion.

Graphic:Wing rocker designCompare this Krause design which mounts the rocker from two frame beams, rather than one like other makes, for added strength and resistance to "twisting" forces. Wing frame leveling is convenient and accurate with new "eye-bolt" adjustments. Precision leveling makes the 3950 Series discs a perfect choice for chemical incorporation. Wing wheels are positioned close to the front gangs and rotate forward in the working position to improve depth control and guard against "gouging" in soft conditions.
